An illustrated talk about water quality will be held in Loweswater Village Hall this week.
Andrew Shaw and Leslie Webb, as part of a Lancaster University project, with West Cumbria Rivers Trust and Defra, to improve the water quality of the lake, have been monitoring the water quality of Loweswater for almost 20 years.
They will talk about the health of the lake, the changes in the surrounding catchment of fells and farmland over the years, with the varying impacts on the lake – on life both above and below the water – as well as achievements made and what the future may hold with climate change.
Melbreak Communities is hosting the event at Loweswater Village Hall on Wednesday, March 25, at 7.30pm.
All are welcome. Entry is by donation, with refreshments provided.
