
A man has appeared in court in connection with an incident in Whitehaven in December.
The incident happened in the Mirehouse area of the town on Saturday, December 15.
Police were called by concerned members of the public and officers found Ross Hardy, who attempted to flee.
Following a foot chase around Mirehouse, he was caught and arrested.
At magistrates court this week, Copeland police said he faced charges of possessing cocaine, possessing another class A drug, possessing cannabis and possessing another class C drug.
He was also charged with possessing a sharp pointed article in a public place
Hardy was given a 12-week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months, a thee-month drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £154 surcharge.
