A hugely popular sporting event in Cockermouth last year is to be repeated with extra activities added.
Chance Camp have linked up with Lake District Barbell to put on Hybrid Beats 2026, which will be staged over two days at Cockermouth Rugby Union Club on Friday May 1 and Saturday May 2.
On Friday a women’s and girls’ touch rugby competition will get underway at 6pm and at the same time a children’s Crossfit competition starts.
The Saturday programme opens with the adults Crossfit (9am start) and then there’s mixed netball (11.30am start) and men’s touch rugby (2pm start).
Chance Camp will be providing coaching sessions and skill challenges throughout the day for four to 14-year-olds.
Children can take part in one hour coaching sessions, bookable on the day at £5 per hour.
Crossfit for adults is a hybrid fitness mixed pairs event to test strength and fitness across 4-5 workouts.
There will be a MC throughout the event and DJ sets throughout the weekend. Entertainment will take place in the clubhouse on the Friday evening from 9pm and 6pm on the Saturday.
After the group stages of the rugby and netball, teams will progress to the cup or plate competition.
There will be winners and runners up medals for both the Cup and Plate.
Team fancy dress is encouraged and prizes awarded for best themed team. Fancy dress can be worn for the netball, rugby or the entertainment afterwards, or both.
Spot prizes will be given out throughout the event for fancy dress, dancing and singing.
Entry forms and more details can be found at Chance Camp.
