A Midweek Club established in Egremont last year for pigeon racing enthusiasts is raising money for charity.
A special squeaker sale has been organised for this Sunday and donations will be made to Crohns and Colitis UK.
Peter Bewsher, one of the men behind the launch of the club last year, said he believes the sale has attracted young birds from some of the leading fanciers in the country.
“I believe the quality of birds have not been matched before in this area and is a fabulous chance for local fanciers to get their hands on birds off some of the best fanciers in the country.

“Among those who have donated squeakers are Stevie Maylette, Paul Cree, Adam and Mick O’Hara and also former Egremont fancier Sean Trodden who moved over the border and flies successfully in the Scottish Nationals,” he said.
The sale is being held in Egremont Rangers Rugby League club on Sunday, with the bidding starting at 1pm.
