Workington Comets rider Troy Batchelor is to double up this season with the Premiership newcomers Northampton Foxes.
Batchelor, preparing for his third season with the Comets, is one of three former Speedway GP riders who will be part of the Foxes line-up for their debut season.
Former world number three Niels-Kristian Iversen and Matej Zagar join the Australian in the Northampton septet.
Two former Workington riders are in the line-up – Nicolai Klindt, a member of the successful last Comets side at Derwent Park in 2018 and Luke Harrison, who was in the Development League side when the Comets relaunched at Northside in 2023.
Australian international Jaimon Lidsey has been named as the Foxes number one while another Aussie rider, Kye Thomson, completes the Foxes side, which will be managed by Chris Adams – son of legendary Wolves team boss Peter Adams.
The club also unveiled its new team kevlars over the weekend and will come to the tapes in blue and orange at Northampton International Shaleway.
The new team starts its Premiership campaign away to King’s Lynn on April 20, before heading to champions Ipswich on April 23. They then host their first home fixture, when the Witches come to town on April 30.
