Fly-campers were made to tidy up the area they were staying in as agencies patrolled the area.
A joint patrol was carried out by Cumbria police, Lake District National Park rangers, police and crime commissioner David Allen, the National Trust and Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service yesterday, Saturday April 4.
Despite the weather, the patrol came across fly-campers contributing to anti-social behaviour.
A spokesman said: “The police took positive action with one person and the remaining two, both identified, we ensured to appropriately educate and then made to tidy the whole fly-camping area in the pouring rain, with the promise of a future ticket should they leave the site in anything less than pristine condition.”
Mr Allen added: “Details were taken by Westmorland and Furness Council, and they were made to pick their rubbish up. If there’s any litter left, they’ll be receiving a £100 fine each.
“We also came across someone who was arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order by Cumbria police.”
