
A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a robbery at two shops in Carlisle.
Police were made aware of an incident at around 12.35pm yesterday, Tuesday April 7, inside two shops on English Street, Carlisle.
A man was reported to have been carrying a bladed article. No one was hurt in the incident.
The 17-year-old was arrested shortly after on suspicion of robbery and possession of a bladed article. He is currently detained in custody.
Police said officers had been conducting enquiries at locations across Carlisle city centre and as a result, residents may have noticed a larger than usual police presence.
The force thanked those involved in helping to locate the teen very soon after the incident.
