A West Cumbrian man has been banned from West Cumbrian shops – including a branch of Greggs – for two years.

Copeland Neighbourhood Policing team have secured another criminal behaviour order against Mark Timney, 55, of Main Street, Egremont.

Timney appeared at court where he pleaded guilty of breaching a previous criminal behaviour order and theft from B&M in Whitehaven on February 20. He was handed the new order, given a rehabilitation activity and a financial penalty.

The order was secured on April 8 and lasts for two years.

Timney must not:

  • Enter any of the shops on the Whitehaven Shopwatch Scheme or any shops displaying the Whitehaven Shopwatch Scheme logo
  • Enter the Co-op on Main Street, Egremont
  • Enter Greggs, on Main Street, Egremont
  • Enter Boots Pharmacy, on Main Street, Egremont

Anyone who witnesses the terms of the order being broken is asked to contact the police immediately.

The punishment for breaking the terms of an order can be up to five years in prison.
