Walking football has been growing rapidly in recent years across the country – and Cumbria is no exception.

Teams, both for men and women, have been formed and it’s increasingly being linked to a way of improving mental health as well as a regular health benefit for the Over-40s.

Two new sessions are to start in Gosforth and Workington.

Starting this Thursday, April 16, at Gosforth Playing Fields, and every week from then at 11am to noon, Mid Copeland Walking Football will be offering opportunities to get involved with Always Another Way.

Then every Monday from 3pm for an hour, walking football sessions for men and women over 40s, funded by the National Lottery, will be held at Workington Reds Soccer Hub in the town.
