
A man has been jailed and banned from shops for three years for offences including breaking a previous stores ban.
Raymond Smith, 29 of no fixed address, appeared at court and was sentenced to 10 months in prison for theft offences, breaches of a criminal behaviour order and possession of a controlled drug of Class B.
Officers from Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team secured a three-year criminal behaviour order on April 17.
Smith is banned from the following:
- Any property or premises that are members of the Workington Schemelink scheme, or who display the Schemelink sign at any time.
- Any property or premises that are members of the Whitehaven Schemelink scheme, or who display the Schemelink sign at any time.
- Any Asda.
- Any Marks & Spencer.
- Any Tesco.
- Any Home Bargains.
- Any McDonald’s.
- Any Spar.
- Any Co-op.
- William Hill on Finkle Street, Workington.
He is also banned from:
- Approaching any person requesting money from them anywhere in Cumbria.
- Entering New Regent Court Chinese, Oxford Street, Workington.
The punishment for breaking the terms of a CBO can be up to five years in prison
Anyone who witnesses Smith breaching the terms of his CBO should contact the police.
