A skipper has been rescued after his yacht ran aground at the south end of Walney Island.
Furness Coastguard and Barrow RNLI were called out to assist the stranded vessel yesterday evening, Sunday July 12.
The RNLI ran out an anchor while the Coastguard team secured the yacht to large rocks.
The skipper was safely removed from the vessel and taken to a hotel.
He will arrange a recovery and a tow for the yacht today, Monday July 13, Furness Coastguard said.
