The top half knockout final in the Aspatria Pool League took place at the Throstle in Wigton between Sun Inn B and Wigton Park BC.
It proved a comfortable win for Sun Inn B as the 5-1 scoreline confirmed them as this season’s champions.
They had stormed into an early 3-0 lead thanks to Ben Scott, Dan Long and David Edwards, and increased the lead when Gary Miller made an excellent 8-ball clearance.
Lewis Baxter pulled a frame back for the Bowling Club but it was Ian Frizzle that clinched the last singles for an easy victory.
In the bottom half knockout final Wigton Rugby Club delivered a convincing 5-0 win over Silloth’s Cumberland A team.
Finley Carruthers, Steven Rumney, Eddie Miller, Craig Lightfoot and Louie Elliot all won for the Rugby Club team to give them the trophy.
In the Cumberland, Silloth the three-man final, proved to be a closely fought match before Michael Prescott David Thompson and Paul Mostyn came out on top against David Barton, Ian Johnston and Alex Studholme, giving them their third win in this competition in the last four years.
