Match of the day in the Cumbria Cricket League’s Premier Division tomorrow is likely to be at Keswick’s Fitz Park.
The home side started with a tight, two wicket-win over Workington last week while Furness beat Dalton by 91 runs.
Furness were beaten the following day in the ECB National Cup, a competition that saw Keswick’s exit two weeks ago in a preliminary round.
Last season’s champions Furness have brought back Pramod Maduwantha, expected to be among the League’s top run-makers this season, and he started with a 50.
He also picked up 4-30 to underline his value as an all-rounder.
Keswick have a new pro this year in Nisala Tharaka, and although he only scored five and took two wickets on debut is an experienced cricketer who should have a big part to play in his side’s title bid.
At Sandair there’s a meeting of two sides who started with a win last Saturday as Cockermouth host Cleator.
Cockermouth had a comfortable win against Millom while Cleator beat League newcomers Carlisle Seconds.
Millom go on a recovery mission at Dalton while Carlisle visit Whitehaven. The other game is Wigton v Workington.
