Emergency services were called out to search for a missing person in West Cumbria.
Workington RNLI said it was called at around 6.40pm yesterday Monday, May 4, to help Cumbria police and Coastguard rescue teams in the search.
The volunteer crew launched the all-weather lifeboat the Dorothy May White and inshore lifeboat James R Allen to undertake a shoreline search between Harrington and Maryport.
At 8.50pm, the police informed Belfast Coastguard that the missing person had been found safe and well and both boats were stood down.
Workington RNLI said it was a false alarm with good intent.
