Jackson’s Bistro

A Lake District bistro is on the market for £625,000.

Jackson’s Bistro, in Bowness-on-Windermere, is over 45 years old and has been run for the past 32 years by Andrew Bedford.

Andrew was a regular at Jackson’s before taking it on in 1994 and is now planning to retire.

He said: “During my time, my hardworking team and I have built a reputation that I am immensely proud of, but it is now time to hand over the baton and retire.

“I have loved my 32 years of ownership and still enjoy it today. There is so much opportunity for a prospective new owner to develop and grow this successful business to new heights, and I am more than happy to help any purchaser to achieve a smooth transition into a new era.”

It is on the market with specialist business property adviser Christie & Co.

The restaurant offers seating for up to 60 covers and in addition to the main dining and bar area, the lower-level dining rooms feature beamed ceilings and slate floors.

Marslie McGregor, senior business agent – pubs & restaurants at Christie & Co, is managing the sale process.

She said: “Having traded successfully for more than three decades, the business benefits from a loyal customer base, excellent local and visitor demand, and a highly efficient evening‑only trading model.

“This is a particularly attractive proposition for owner‑operators, experienced restaurateurs, or lifestyle buyers seeking a standout business in a premier tourist setting.”
