Leaders at the halfway stage are Sun Inn Sharks: Ryan Bedford, Jobby Dunn, Mel Scott & Steven Wheatcroft

Sun Inn Sharks will go into the second half of the Maryport Pool League season in top spot after a 6-1 win at home to Elbra C.

Elbra B remain second after being given the fixture against Butchers A 7-0.

Third on frame difference are Elbra A who recorded a 4-3 win against Glasson Rangers but no sheet was provided with the scoring details.

Bowling Club remain in fourth place despite going down 4-3 to Sun Inn, Dearham after Danny Dryden and Blake Miller won their singles.

Miller and Calum Casson combined for first the double and with the game 3-3 Dryden and Adam Short pulled off the win for the Sun to continue their run of fine form.

In fifth place are Swan Inn who went down to 4-3 to Butchers B who were recording their third win in a row after going 12 without any from the start of the season.

Mark Mattocks, with his 12 win of the season, gave Swan the lead but Ian Pattinson and Sam Winter took two for the Butchers. Then Pattinson and Lee Hodgson made it 3-2 before Winter and Simon Marr secured the victory.

Maryport Social were on top form beating Sun Inn Cannons 6-1 with an 8 ball clearance from Stephen Ismay the highlight.

There was another 8 ball clearance in the last double during the in-house derby between Maryport Rugby Club’s A & B teams. In the end the B team ran out 5-2 winners on a night of shock results.
