A shoplifter has written a letter of apology after a Jellycat toy was taken from a Carlisle gift shop.
Cumbria police issued a CCTV image of a woman following the incident at Ashbridge & Brown, off Fisher Street, on March 30, appealing for people to identify her.
The Jellycat toy was worth £40.
Cumbria police said a 46-year-old woman came forward to identify herself as the person responsible.
She has apologised and paid for the Jellycat.
Cumbria police said: “The outcome, which is a community resolution, has been agreed with the victim in this case.”
