Barrow Raiders were given a fright by Hunslet but eventually got over the finish line for a 36-22 win.
Fifteen minutes into the second-half the visitors had clawed the score back to 24-22 after going into the break 24-6 down, and the momentum seemed to be with them.
It needed a try on 59 minutes from Ryan King, converted by Brad Walker, to swing the game back towards the Raiders and two minutes from the end they made absolutely certain with a try by Luke Cresswell, converted by Walker.
It was an important and deserved win, especially after they had won at Doncaster in mid-week and will welcome the break this weekend before the derby clash at Workington on June 7.
Barrow had bossed the first-half but the first 15 minutes of the second half won’t have pleased coach Paul Crarey.
They had gone ahead after only four minutes with King going over and Walker’s conversion putting them nicely on their way.
The lead was doubled on 12 minutes when Alex Bishop scored the second Barrow try, converted by Walker and they were scoring at more than a point a minute when Joe Bullock charged over on 15 minutes with Walker adding the extras.
Hunslet did get on the scoresheet after 20 minutes through Charlie Graham converted by Dan Abram but it was business as usual for the Raiders after half an hour when speedster Tee Ritson cross and Walker continued his 100% kicking record.
Then came the Hunslet fight-back with tries on 43 minutes by Berry and Gaskell followed him over seven minutes later.
Abram converted one but he added the extras when Graham scored his second try after 52 minutes.
It was suddenly game on until King came up with a fifth try for Barrow and Cresswell added a late sixth. Walker finished with six successful kicks from six attempts.
