Groups of children are sawing down trees and digging up a conservation area.
Carlisle police said large parts of Tarraby Woods, between Houghton and Tarraby, were being dug up and destroyed.
Yesterday, Carlisle police said two boys were found with a spade in the woods.
It added: “They were sent home and guardians spoken with.”
Officers will carry out extra patrols of the area and said they would take the details of anyone found committing anti-social behaviour.
