Furness Coastguard were called out to Walney Nature Reserve to help a person with a suspected broken ankle.
The team was called on Saturday night to the reserve in South Cumbria.
They provided care until the arrival of the North West Ambulance Service and the casualty was transferred to an ambulance via the beach.
Furness Coastguard added: “With the access road now being completely washed away, we had to access the casualty through the airfield.
“We would like to say a thank you to BAE Systems security for their help and support in providing access via the airfield.”
