
A ceremony took place at Muncaster Castle to celebrate the achievements of three people from Cumbria who have been honoured for their outstanding contributions to their communities.
Frances Elizabeth Hill, Susan Holliday and Christine Marie Pattinson have been awarded the British Empire Medal by the King for their work.
The investiture brought together recipients, their families and invited guests to recognise their exceptional service.
Frances was honoured for services to education, Susan for services to policing and the community and Christine for services to the community in Distington.
They were presented with their medal by Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria, Alexander Scott.
