
A 17-year-old has been arrested following several reports of the death of cats in Carlisle.
Three incidents have been reported to have happened in the Richmond Green and Raffles areas of the city.
Cumbria police said it was suspected the animals had been attacked by dogs.
The 17-year-old male, from Carlisle, has been arrested on suspicion of offences related to animal cruelty.
A lurcher-type dog has also been seized from an address in Carlisle.
The teenager remained in custody last night.
Police said they had received several calls regarding the incidents following a subsequent social media post.
Officers have increased their presence in the area as enquiries continue and to provide reassurance, the force said.
