A 6-1 win on home turf for Abbeytown against an unbeaten Carlisle City team in the league has sent them through to the league cup final.

A dominant opening 20 minutes as Abi Heaton, Sadie Holliday, Kayleigh Wharton and Danielle Wilson found the back of the net after sharp bits of attacking football from the home side.

Carlisle City pulled one back before the break with a glancing header to make it 4-1 and then the game settled with end to end football as attacking Abigail Telford nearly scored a second for City.

The second half came and Kayleigh Wharton rounded the City keeper to make it 5-1 and give the home side the momentum.

Amy Carr stayed strong in goal to deny Carlisle City any chance of a comeback.

If there were still any doubts, young Amie Elliott scored a rocket to send Abbeytown through to the final – making it three of three for the home side.
