Two former Workington Reds players have helped England win the Seniors World Cup in Thailand.
David Norris and Lee Elam were members of the England squad which won all five games in the tournament.
The final produced a 4-0 win over France after a 5-2 win over Australia in Friday’s semi-final.
The veteran Lions had won all three group games, beating Thailand 2-0 in their opening Group A fixture before a 4-1 win against Taiwan and a 3-0 victory over the US.
Biggest name in the England squad was Gareth Barry who earned 53 caps for his country between 2000 and 2012 while his former Aston Vila team-mate Lee Hendrie was also included.
Former Notts Forest and Ipswich defender Luke Chambers – who boasts 792 EFL appearances – skippered the team whose other notable members to play in the Premier League were Ian Cox, Kevin Ellison and Barry Hayles.
The rest of the squad featured Luke McCormick, Jamie Coyle, Jake Wright, and Aaron O’Connor, who all jumped around the EFL and non-league.

The six-day tournament was held in Ubon Ratchathani, a city on the Mun River just outside of Bangkok.
The eight nations taking part alongside England were Thailand, USA, Taiwan, Australia, France, Laos, and New Zealand.
The tournament format called for each side to have three players aged 40 to 44, four players aged 45 to 49 and three players aged 50 or older on the pitch at one time.
There were also rolling subs for the over 50s with the matches timed in 20-minute quarters.
Norris, 45, had played under Mark Fell at Lancaster and then retired. But Fell persuaded him to don his boots again and he made seven starts for the Reds and another five from the bench.
When he scored in a 3-1 win over Whitby Town it made him Reds oldest goal scorer at 43 years and seven months.
He is still a registered player with Daisy Hill in the North West Counties League.
In a long Football League career he is best remembered at Plymouth Argyle where he made 219 appearances, with another 106 at Ipswich Town.
Elam is 49 and played most games for his first club Southport (104) before a mainly non-league career, although he did play 40 games for Exeter City.
More recently he has been manager at Eccleshill United but last month was appointed boss of their Bradford rivals Albion Sports.
