Whitehaven are looking for a third successive Championship victory when they host North Wales Crusaders at the Ortis Rec on Sunday (3pm).
A home win over Keighley was followed by a fine victory at Midlands Hurricanes last week.
But coach James Newton will insist on no complacency against a struggling Crusaders side who lost 134-0 to table leaders London Broncos last week.
With almost a 100% Cumbria-based side Newton has seen team spirit and commitment growing week to week and will be relying on another hard-working display to complete a hat-trick of wins.
But this is Whitehaven’s only home game in June and need a good turnout on Sunday to boost the coffers.
It isn’t helped by the fact that Workington Town are also at home and although both clubs have die-hard fans, there are also those who watch them both when fixtures allow.
There’s also been an intriguing announcement by Haven that after the game they will making two statements affecting the future of the club.
Sunday’s opponents North Wales have had well-documented problems this season but have staggered on and hope gradually to turn things around.
