A climber in the Lake District was airlifted to hospital after a 6m fall.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out to Raven Crag at Glaramara on Friday, June 12, at around 12.20pm.
The climber had tumbled on the first pitch of Corvus on to a ledge and had injured his back.
A second party waiting to start the climb called for assistance.
The team requested support from the Coastguard helicopter based at Carlisle.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “They arrived soon after assessing whether a winch to extract the climber was possible.
“Unfortunately conditions did not allow for this but they carried out two lifts of team members to the top of the crag with heavy rigging gear.
“A team member was lowered to the climber, and after carefully packaging the man in a vacuum mattress, he was lowered to a medical reception party on the ground.
“After checks and pain relief he was stretchered to the base of the Comb, where the helicopter was waiting to airlift the casualty to hospital.”
