People are being invited to learn more about plans for a fish pass and other changes at a weir in Workington.
United Utilities is inviting residents to a drop-in event to hear about the proposed changes at Yearl Weir in Workington.
Plans include building a new fish pass and modifying the existing weir in a bid to improve river ecology and create better conditions for wildlife.
United Utilities said changes to the weir, that dates back to the 18th century, would make it easier for species including Atlantic salmon, sea lamprey and river lamprey to migrate along the River Derwent.
The event will be held at the Helena Thompson Museum, Workington, on Monday 22 June, from 2pm to 7pm.
Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions and provide more information about the proposals.
United Utilities will begin surveys and environmental assessments this summer to inform the design and planning application.
Subject to approval, work could start in spring 2028.
