
Glasson Rangers were celebrating their first win of the season in the Cumbria Men’s League when they won 46-16 at Dalton A in Division One.
Chria Broadley, one of the coaching team, said: “It was a really good performance with everyone involved.
“Right from the start we applied pressure to Dalton and kept to our structures so were able to reap the rewards.
“Luke Johnson was named man of the match but a number of players ran him close.
“Hopefully this will create a bit of momentum going forward.”
Glasson, who led 18-12 at half-time, scored tries through Connor Wilson (3), Matthew Burns (2), Shane Williams, Lee Howard and Luke Johnson.
There were six goals by Johnson and one from Williams.
Kyle Brennan, Mason Laisby and Jayden Allonby scored the Dalton tries with two goals from Elliot Wilkinson. Farrell O’Kane was their man of the match.
In the same Division One, Egremont A were 54-10 winners at Millom A.
Egremont’s tries came from Leon Crellin (3), Ben Caine (2), Nathan Preston (2), Dan Telford (2), Jack Stainton and Charlie Biggins.
Sam Dixon kicked three goals and Stainton landed two.
For Millom, the two tries were scored by Jake Middleton and Jack Park with Callum Lamont adding a conversion.
Hensingham A were 34-10 winners at Maryport A.

Hensingham had just edged a tight first-half 12-10 but pulled away in the second half.
Johnny Ivison, Charlie Bowman and Lewis Walling were the Maryport try scorers with two goals from Walling.
Tony Fyfe (2), Ryley Burr, Gareth Gates, Gary Palmer and Keene Archer scored the Hensingham tries with Luca Hiddlestone landing five goals.
In the Premier Division the game between Cockermouth Titans and Kells A was postponed because of a shortage of referees.
The best game in the top flight was the one which was expected to be the tightest in which Wath Brow A eventually triumphed 18-10 against Lowca.
Wath Brow won with tries from John Rae (2), Leighton Dockwray and Tom Clarke. Brady Todd kicked one goal.
Lowca replied with tries from Emerson Allen and Evan Hodgson with a conversion by Hodgson.
The Lowca tries were scored by Emerson Allen and Evan Hodgson. The conversion was by Hodgson.

In the other game Askam were too strong for Flimby Vikings and won 68-8.
Askam scored 12 tries led by Josh Bayliss (3), Brad Kavanagh (2) and Matty Holmes (2).

Also on the mark were Dale Lampton, Luke Thomson, Morgan Cubbins, Connor Saunders and Eddie Goodson.
Saunders converted ten of them.
