An appeal has been lodged with the Secretary of State after a Cumbrian council refused plans connected to changing a Carlisle pub into a Chinese noodle restaurant.
Maggie Lo Catering Supplies, based in Birmingham, applied to Cumberland Council to install a new ventilation system at the Joiners Arms in Church Street in March.
It was turned down because there was not enough information to allow the authority to make a full and proper assessment of he planning and environmental impacts that could arise from the development.
The decision notice said: “The drawings and documents forming part of the application submission contain errors and/or are unclear as to what the proposals would entail.
“Written requests to the agent to provide additional information and clarification have not been responded to and contact using the telephone contact information supplied has not been possible with the agent, who is also stated as the applicant.”
