Overnight closures are planned for sections of the A595 and A596 for resurfacing work.

Work will start on the A595 near Wigton, at the Rosley crossroads to Crofton layby, from July 2 for eight nights.

From July 12, the A595 at Bothel will be closed for three nights.

And from July 15, the A596 at Heathccote, near Aspatria, will be closed for two nights.

All work is are subject to weather conditions and site constraints.

Diversions will be in place.

Residents and businesses within the closure areas will be escorted through the work where it is safe to do so, although short delays may be necessary depending on site activity, the authority said.

Access for emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
