A Cumbrian hospice will benefit from a record fundraising total of £12,537 raised at an annual horse racing fixture.
Guests at the Rachael Bell Wealth Management Race Day at Carlisle Racecourse recorded the new high total – smashing the previous record of £7,786 set in 2024.
The money raised will be donated to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s only children’s hospice.
Practice principal Rachael Bell said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the kindness and generosity of our guests at this year’s race day.
“The Rachael Bell Wealth Management Race Day is the highlight of our social calendar and the amount of work our team puts in to make sure everyone has a great time is quite staggering.
“All that effort is worthwhile when our guests enjoy themselves, and even more importantly raise so much money for vital charities in our local area.
“Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw provide critical care provision for people going through the toughest of times, and we’re delighted to be able to support the amazing work the staff at the hospices carry out every day.
“A big thank you goes to all who helped raise such a fantastic amount of money to help these charities continue to carry out their life changing care.”
Hundreds of clients and associates of Rachael Bell Wealth Management attended the annual race day and enjoyed a day of horseracing accompanied by a three-course meal and afternoon tea.
