An upgrade of a Lake District road has been completed – including the introduction of double yellow lines.
Work began on the C4018 between Greendale Junction and Wasdale Head on May 27 to improve drainage and resurface the road.
As part of the scheme, double yellow lines have been introduced.
Cumberland Council said the restrictions had been put in place to help prevent unsafe parking and ensure clear access for emergency vehicles along the narrow route.
Work was carried out under overnight closures to minimise disruption during the day.
Cumberland Council said the road has now reopened but urged people to consider using public transport where possible instead of their vehicles to help reduce congestion and pressure on limited parking.
It added: “Those travelling by car are asked to park considerately so that emergency services and other road users can always pass safely.”
