[A] MAN who had contact with children despite being forbidden from doing so has been handed a two-year prison sentence.
Brian Key, 49, received a restraining order by a judge in 2014 for harassing two 14-year-old females on Facebook. This prohibited him from having contact with anybody aged under 16 indefinitely.
But in September and October last year Key spoke to several under-16s – including a seven-year-old boy – on separate occasions in Carlisle.
At the time he was on police bail having initially flouted the restraining order by setting up a Facebook account last June.
Key, of Freshfield Court, Carlisle, was sentenced today (WED) at the city’s crown court. He had previously pleaded guilty to three breaches of that order.
He was jailed for two years by Judge Peter Davies, who told him: “These are a serious series of breaches.”
