[A] CRIMINAL nicknamed “Killer” who left his own blood at the scene of a drunken festive burglary has been sent to prison.

Lee John William Clark snatched a broken 50-inch television along with 20 “worthless” empty DVD cases after smashing his way into an empty Whitehaven home.

Blood found at the property matched his DNA. And Carlisle Crown Court heard a man also told police he had bought the stolen TV from someone known as “Killer” – 28-year-old Clark’s nickname.

Clark later pleaded guilty to the burglary, committed in late December, and also admitted a Christmas Eve public order offence after a street disturbance in Whitehaven.

Clark, of Monkwray Road, Whitehaven, was sentenced at the crown court today (WED). It was said he could not recall either crime having indulged in “excessive amounts of binge drinking” during that period.

Hearing that Clark had almost two dozen offences on his criminal record, Judge Peter Davies jailed him for 21 months.
