[F]ollowing a joint search operation by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the RNLI and Police Scotland the bodies of two men have been recovered from the west coast of the Irish Sea.
Police Scotland are now able to confirm the identity of the two bodies recovered from the Irish Sea following a major search over the weekend.
Sandy Hamilton (35) of Clydeview Cottages, Ashgill, Larkhall and Kevin James McKinlay (46) of Rosslyn Road, Larkhall have now been positively identified. Relatives are aware.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Inspector Stephen Bell, Dumfries and Galloway Police Division, said: “Police understand they launched their speed boat from Port Logan at around 0900 hours on Saturday 6 May 2017.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
