[T]he family of a man killed in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack are inviting members of the public to celebrate his life.

A spokesman for Martyn Hett’s family said: “The funeral of our inspirational son Martyn Hett will take place from 12 noon on Friday 30 June 2017 at Stockport Town Hall with the service commencing at 12.30pm.

“Whilst the Town Hall itself may not hold everyone, we have made provision for the service to be live screened outside on the adjoining Plaza to allow everyone to participate in this event.

“As a family we wish to invite anybody who would like to attend to celebrate Martyn’s life.

“We respectfully ask for privacy once the service has concluded and that only people who have been formally invited attend both the cremation and wake which will be family and close friends only.

“We also kindly ask for family flowers only and request that any memorial donations are given to the following charities:

  • Kidscan Childrens Cancer Charity
  • Beechwood Children’s Bereavement Service.
  • Beacon Counselling
