[P]olice are investigating a serious assault which took place in the Walkabout bar.
Officers were alerted to reports of a man in his 20s being found collapsed at approx 2:45am on Sunday 16 July.
He was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary were his injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening at this time.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the Walkabout bar around the time the man was found or who witnessed the assault to contact Cumbria Police on 101 and ask for Carlisle CID or DC Sam Johnston.
