Safety improvements on a road in a Lake District town have been completed.
Following concerns from Keswick Town Council and Keswick School, Cumberland Council began work on the safety improvements on Crosthwaite Road.
Concerns surrounded the safety of pupils crossing the road.
Improvements include a new pedestrian refuge island, upgraded pavements and associated parking restrictions.
The authority said the measures were designed to improve visibility and reduce the risk of vehicles obstructing key crossing points.
It added that the scheme created a continuous and more accessible walking route, making it easier for people to travel on foot and connect with public transport services.
The project was funded through Local Transport Grant funding.
