John Stevenson MP

[J]ohn Stevenson MP organised a public meeting with Openreach after a number of residents contacted him regarding the lack of broadband at their properties.

At the meeting on Friday, Openreach gave residents of Cloverfields housing estate the assurance that their broadband will be connected within three months. Openreach also agreed to investigate the progress of the work to connect the new Speckled Wood housing estate.

John said: “I am pleased that Openreach agreed to meet with the residents of Carlisle to discuss their issues. I am also pleased with how productive the meeting was.

“Not only is the Brackenleigh housing estate broadband now up and running, but Openreach have committed to completing work on the Cloverfields housing estate within three months. Openreach have agreed to attend another public meeting at the beginning of November if this deadline is not met.

“I have asked Openreach to keep me updated with their progress. Anyone experiencing broadband issues throughout Carlisle should contact my office.”
