Police have issued a warning after a spate of collisions on a Cumbrian road.
Eden police said officers were called out to an incident on the B6413 near Lazonby yesterday, Saturday July 18.
It said: “We are noticing an increase of collisions at the moment on this particular road.
“This could be from sun glare, restricted visibility on country roads, or a laps in judgment. It is important to be vigilant and leave enough space to stop on the road to be able to see clearly.
“Take extra care going past or coming towards junctions and crossroads.
“There could always be a vehicle that may fail to stop, misjudge their speed or yours, or pull out when its unsafe. Even when you have priority, taking those few extra precautions could prevent a collision.”
Officers urged drivers to:
- Slow down and stay alert
- Look well ahead and scan for vehicles that may emerge
- Be prepared to brake, even if you have the right of way
- Never assume another driver has seen you or will give way
