Carol Green, Bereavement Support Lead in Cumbria

[A] BEREAVEMENT charity is looking for volunteers to support the work of its team in Cumbria.

Child Bereavement UK offers free support to children, young people and families across the county when a child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.

Volunteers will become a part of the team and are being given the opportunity to help and support in a number of areas.

One of these will be to help plan, prepare and present the ‘Day to Remember’ bereavement support group for children, young people and families which takes place in September.

Child Bereavement UK’s Cumbria Bereavement Services Team Lead, Carol Green, said: “We are looking for volunteers with a range of skills including listening, group work, fundraising and administration.

“This is a great opportunity to support a wonderful charity which helps to rebuild people’s lives after the devastation of bereavement.

“The Cumbria bereavement support service covers the whole of Cumbria and the locations will vary according to the needs of the families.

“The ‘Day to Remember’ group will take place on September 30 2017 and is likely to be in West Cumbria.

“No formal qualifications are necessary, although previous knowledge and experience of bereavement support will be an advantage. Training will be given.”

For more information and a role description please contact Carol Green on 01539 628311 or email [email protected]

Closing date is Monday, August 14 2017 and interviews will be held on Tuesday 22.

The volunteers training day will be held on Saturday September 2.
