[C]ockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called today at 5pm after a 66-year-old woman from North Yorkshire had fallen on the descent from Scarth Gap, near Buttermere, sustaining a head injury.
She was treated by the team and team doctor, before being stretchered to the team’s Land Rover ambulance for the short journey down the Warnscale track to Gatesgarth Farm where she was handed over to a NWAS land ambulance and taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
The rescue involved 21 members of Cockermouth MRT and lasted around 3 hours.
