[T]his month the Big Top is coming to Appleby for one weekend only. From Friday 22nd to Sunday 24thSeptember Astral Circus and Happy Days present an entertainment and gastronomic experience never seen in Cumbria before.
By day, Astral Circus, originally from Appleby, will perform fabulous family shows which will entertain both young and old alike. An exciting mix of comedy, acrobatics and circus magic is all brought together in a compelling vintage style performance.
By night, brand new activity and experience company based in the Eden Valley, Happy Days, presents ‘Banquet at the Big Top’, a unique event which will be a feast for your eyes and your belly. Enjoy cocktails and a sumptuous four course carnival themed dinner whilst the circus dazzles and delights around you in the Big Top.
Sally Mcallister, from Astral Circus was born and raised in Morland and now lives in Appleby, said: ‘We are delighted to be putting up the Big Top to entertain in our home town. We are also very excited to be working with Happy Days to provide a truly unique dining experience- it’s going to be an evening to remember for all those who attend.’
The event will take place in The Big Top Tent Behind Broad Close car park in Appleby. There will be six chances to see the circus show; 11am, 1pm and 3pm on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September. The astonishing Big Top Banquet will take place 7pm on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September.
