Woman trapped in Kendal crash

[A] woman was trapped after a car overturned following a two vehicle road traffic collision on Natland in Kendal.

The collision involved an Audi, driven by a 19-year-old woman and a Seat Ibiza, driven by a woman in her 60s, the Seat Ibiza had overturned trapping the driver.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 8:53am firefighters were called to a road traffic collision with one person trapped on Natland, Kendal.

“Two fire engines from Kendal attended the incident which involved two vehicles.

“Crews used cutting equipment and small tools to extract the casualty who was then handed into the care of the paramedics.

“Crews were at the scene for one hour.”

Cumbria Police said there are no details on the extent of injuries at this time, however they believed an air ambulance was sent to the scene.

The road reopened at 10:50am.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
