[A]t 11:20pm yesterday, Thursday 28 September firefighters were called to a chip pan fire in Orfeur Street, Carlisle.
Crews, two from Carlisle and one from Longtown, attended the incident which was out on arrival.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “The crews ventilated the property using a large fan.
“One casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.
“Crews were at the scene for 40 minutes.”
At 5:56pm yesterday, firefighters were called to a chip pan fire on Moorside, Flooburg.
Crews, one from Grange and one from Ulverston, found the fire out on arrival.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “One person was taken to hospital by ambulance crews suffering from smoke inhalation.
“Crews were at the scene for one hour and half.”
