New free app for Local Authority Building Control.

[B]ooking a site inspection for your building project has just got easier thanks to a new free mobile app by Local Authority Building Control (LABC).

This free site inspection request app offers people the option to contact Eden District Council’s Build Control Team via their smart phone or tablet at a time convenient to them.

By using GPS or the construction site’s postcode, the app pinpoints the correct building control authority for the project (or you can simply select the authority from a dropdown list). The app then sends the inspection request straight to Eden District Council’s Building Control Team by email 24/7. It also send an email to acknowledge receipt of the request.

Eden District Council’s Building Control Manager, Alaistair Richmond said “The LABC App is an effective and easy route into the Building Control Service, if your request is received by 10am we will provide a same day inspection service. Eden Building Control is a not for profit service which offers a high quality, affordable and responsive service to all parties involved in your project.”

Each year, Local Authority Building Control in Eden District receives and deals with around 700 building regulations applications. These can vary from replacement windows to housing sites with hundreds of new homes to large commercial buildings. By obtaining professional advice and working with tradesman with the recognised industry qualifications the public can be reassured their building works are carried out to the appropriate standards.
