Remembrance Sunday in Harrington and Workington

Last years’ service at the Cenotaph in Workington

[R]emembrance Sunday falls on the 12 November this year and the timings for the annual parades in Harrington and Workington have been confirmed.

The parade in Harrington will assemble at 9.30am at the Royal British Legion on Salterbeck Road. The parade will process to St Mary’s Church on Rectory Close for a service at 10am led by Reverend Julia Powley.

As in previous years, the parade in Workington will assemble at a later time to allow attendees to be present for both of the town’s parades and services. The Workington parade will assemble at 1.45pm on Pow Street and will be supervised by Parade Marshal, Sgt Lee Taylor.

The parade will then set off at 2pm and process to Vulcan Park for the service at the Cenotaph. The Chaplain for the Mayor of Workington, Father Paul Harrison of Our Lady and St Michael’s Church, will lead the service.

Following the service at the Cenotaph, the parade will continue to St Michael’s Church at Falcon Place for the final service of the day at approximately 3pm.
