[A] Carlisle man has admitted breaching a restraining order for the nineteenth time.
Alan Turner, 40, received a restraining order imposed by Carlisle Crown Court in 2012, which prohibited him from visiting his parents home or contacting them by any means and not to enter the street in Harraby where the vulnerable couple live.
Turner was arrested on the evening of Sunday, October 29, magistrates in the city were told by prosecutor John Moran how Turner was only released from a prison sentence for a similar breach offence only 48-hours previously before committing this nineteenth breach.
The court was told Turner went to his elderly parents home and kicked on the side door and shouted for his mother in the hope she would give him some money, as he was walking away he shouted verbal abuse “What are you looking at” and shouted expletives at a dog walker passing by, he was then arrested.
Magistrates heard how Turner over the years had caused psychological harm to his parents, and they are scared to go to bed, prosecutor John Moran said.
It was only in August that he received 120-days in prison for a previous breach, and on release committed this breach,
Turner of Port Road, Carlisle, admitted the breach, Turner told the court his drinking causes the problems.
Through his lawyer Lauren Heasley said, he now has a stable address and is seeking help, he is “a well spoken and well read man,” but drink seems to be his problem.
Turner begged magistrates for a last chance to get his house and financial affairs sorted out before going back to prison.”
After a lengthy discussion outside of court magistrates remanded him in custody to be sentenced at Crown Court on December 1.
