[A] by-election for two Parish Councillors in Seaton is due to take place on Thursday 30 November, and Allerdale Borough Council is reminding residents of key deadlines and information.

The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday 14 November. If you have yet to respond to your household enquiry form, please be sure to do so even if you are already registered and your details have not changed.

Those who are unable to get to their polling station can apply for a postal vote, or change existing postal or proxy votes, by Wednesday 15 November at 5pm. Alternatively, you can apply for a proxy vote by 5pm on Wednesday 22 November, so a nominated, registered person can vote at a polling station on your behalf. Please contact the Council’s Electoral Services team on 01900 702550, or email [email protected] if you wish to apply.

The postal vote packs will be sent out on Monday 20 November. Please read the instructions in the pack carefully before completing the enclosed postal vote statement and the ballot paper, then send them back to Allerdale House in the prepaid envelope provided so that they arrive before 10pm on 30 November. Alternatively they can also be returned by hand to Allerdale House by 10pm on 30 November, and on the day of the election they may be handed into the polling station – Seaton Parish Rooms on Causeway Road – between 7am and 10pm.

Full details of the candidates and the notice of election can be found on Allerdale Borough Council’s website at http://www.allerdale.gov.uk/.

For all queries about any aspect of the election please call the Electoral Services team on 01900 702550 or email [email protected]
