[S]tudents, staff and governors bade farewell to fellow governor Joe Holliday this week, who is to step down at the end of the year following more than sixteen years’ service.
A well-known figure in the local community through his council work, Joe has championed the College in every corner of West Cumbria during his time, never losing an opportunity to promote education and training, in his support of the very best of facilities and opportunities for learners in the area.
In thanking Joe for his commitment and dedication, Chair of the College, Mark Stanger said: “We will miss Joe’s input, quiet wisdom and his breadth of knowledge and contacts. He has, in particular, taken a keen interest in health and safety at the College, attending many of the specialist meetings. All of us at Lakes College send him off with every good wish for the future.”
Joe was joined by his wife, Dorothy, at a small lunch at Lakes College in-house restaurant, Graduates, to thank him for his unwavering support.
